Fishtail palms are considered one of the easiest palm species to grow indoors. They can tolerate indoor humidity (50%) and prefer drier, well draining soil rather than stay moist. Although they can tolerate almost any type of light, they would do best under bright (indirect) enviroments.The plant does not mind being a little root bound, and this will slow its growth to be more accomodating for indoor spaces. With proper care and fertilizing once every growing season, the fishtail palm can reach heights of up to 8 feet, but since they are very slow growers, this would take a coulpe of years.
